A quote was recently shared with us that stated, “Until God
opens a door for you, praise Him in the hallway”. Well, that is where our family stands right
now. I’m sorry we haven’t posted an
update blog in a while but there hasn’t been much to update. We have had many showings and a few open
houses but so far no one has placed an offer on our house. As homes in Chico sell left and right, all with
a similar floor plan, square footage and price range it would be easy to slip
into frustration and despair. But I
think it makes it all the more clear that the Lord has someone specific in mind
for our home and they just haven’t come along yet. A scripture that has ministered greatly to me
lately comes from Psalm 27:13-14,”I would have lost heart, unless I had believed
that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait on
the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; wait, I say,
on the Lord!”
There has also been some “drama” with the house, but I
choose not to go into detail about it here and now. It is a matter that has been dealt with in
prayer due to the unfortunate circumstances.
It is a situation we will continue to walk in until the Lord sells the
house but we know that whatever the outcome, God will be glorified. All we ask is for His wisdom, guidance and
the right buyer at the right time for the right price. It is His house to do with as He sees fit.
As summertime is now upon us we look forward to some fun
activities as a family. This last
weekend we headed up to the mountains to a family cabin to escape the triple
digit temperatures here in the valley for a few days. Lord willing, next week we head up to the
mountains again, this time with our youth group kids for their summer
camp. Also, we hope to start Joshy in
swim lessons toward the end of June.
Bidwell Park has become a welcome alternative to the usual route of our
morning walk as the sun is already hot and shining bright by 9am. We also look forward to other local
attractions as the summer progresses such as the public pool, nature center and
play dates in the park as well as at some fun indoor facilities.

partners. You are so appreciated! Here is a brief list of some prayer requests:
- That our faith would continue to remain strong
and stable as the Lord has us in this season “in the hallway”. He is using it to teach us to have faith and
trust in Him, which we know will be needed in the future as well but it is
never pleasant as you walk in it.
- For the Lord to bring along the right person at
the right time at the right price to purchase our home.
- That the “drama” would quickly be resolved.
- That the Lord would go before us and be
preparing the hearts of those He would have us minister to in Fergus Falls as well
as preparing our hearts to rely upon Him to equip us to do the work through us
by His grace.
- For wisdom, discernment and timing as we begin
the necessary steps of developing a “core team” (more info later!)
