A few weeks back our family headed to the mountains for the annual youth group summer camp. We knew it was a great time that ministered to both us as leaders and to our students which was confirmed all the more by the amount of spiritual attack that was experienced by many upon our return home. Satan doesn't like it when we grow closer to God and he wants to rob us of that. We praise God in times such as that for a rock solid faith that cannot be shaken or taken away.
Also, the last two weeks Joshua has been taking parent/tot swim lessons. Joshua is a fish in the water! He just loves it. We are so glad we signed him up so he can begin to learn water safety at a young age.
This last week we went up to the mountains again to celebrate the 4th of July. We watched a parade in a little mountain town near where my grandparents own a cabin. Joshua was filled with wonder at the floats, horses, fire trucks and vintage cars. It has been years since I attended the parade as well so it was a lot of fun for us all. Unfortunately we had to come home earlier than we had intended but it was so nice to get out of the heat for even a day.
I mentioned earlier that our house has not yet sold. Despite this Tim and I still feel called to move to Minnesota so we have planned to go at the end of the month. Today we are T- 21 days. Wow, there is still so much to do! We earnestly desire your prayers! Also, we plan to have a yard sale this weekend, which will help us pay for the move out to Minnesota and help "relieve" us of some stuff to take with us. After all, it is just stuff.
The next few Sunday afternoons Tim and I are hosting a meeting with our church family to inform the fellowship of where we are going and what we are doing. We desire to build up a support team. There is a statistic that in worldly warfare, for every 1 soldier on the field there are about 9 support people behind them on the home-front. How much more so do we need support people on the home-front in spiritual battle?!
Thank you to all of you for continuing to lift us up in prayer. Here are some specifics you can be praying for:
- God's sovereign plan and perfect will to cover the situation with selling our house
- Time management and precision in packing/moving and planning/executing a yard sale
- The perfect amount of finances to cover our move out to Minnesota
- That the Lord would already be stirring the hearts of those He desires to be a part of our core support team and to be clearly impressing roles upon their heart.
