Ready, Set...

Tim and I have been busy little bees since we returned from the Pastor's Conference in Wisconsin two weeks ago.  We met with a Realtor, Debbie, that came highly recommended to us and she gave us some great ideas to help spruce up our house, making it look more appealing.  So we dove in head first with some minor landscaping, "clutter" removal from the counter tops, etc and had the carpets cleaned.  We can't believe how much better the house looks after doing the small things she suggested!

Last night Debbie came back to take pictures of the house.  She couldn't believe the difference adding some mulch to the yard made.  That was reassuring to me.  When a woman who has been in real estate for many years is excited to see the improvement that gives me a lot of hope.  So with pictures taken and our diligent efforts to keep the house looking nice, the house is set to go on the MLS later tonight (http://www.trulia.com/property/3118102796-6-Elisha-Ct-Chico-CA-95973).  I overheard Debbie telling another agent on the phone how good everything looked.  Tim and I are excited and waiting expectantly to see what God is about to do.  We know He is a big God and is more than capable of blowing our minds with what He has in store, so that is what we are waiting on.

Also, a few days back Tim was looking into posting an ad in the Fergus Falls newspaper seeking anyone who might be interested in a Calvary Chapel style Bible study.  It was very pricey ($200-$400) but Tim noticed that a letter to the editor was free.  So Tim being prompted by the Lord placed a very simply and short note instructing anyone who might be interested to send an email to our ministry address (http://www.fergusfallsjournal.com/2013/05/03/bible-study-is-starting-up-seeks-members/).  We have already received one reply back and heard from Tim's parents who live in Fergus Falls that others have been inquiring as well. We are excited to see yet again that the Lord is behind all this and that He definitely has people in Fergus Falls that He wants to make Himself known to.

All of our posts recently have focused on our calling in ministry and not about Joshua as in the past.  So I wanted to give a little update about him as well.  Joshua is constantly busy!  He loves to climb, especially on things he is not supposed to.  Of course!  His verbal language is rapidly developing as well as his little personality traits.  Just in case things weren't crazy enough around here right now, we decided to start potty training as well.  Is there ever really a good or convenient time to start?  So we thought now was as good of a time as any.  Right now Josh is in more of the introductory phase where several times a day we take him in and just let him sit on his potty chair.  I figure by sheer statistics alone that he will eventually go in the potty.  We will then praise him profusely and hopefully the idea of how to use the potty will stick.  Joshua will occasionally tell us that he needs to go or has just gone so we know he is very close to a full understanding of how the whole toileting thing works.

Joshua's favorite outdoor activities right now are mowing with his pretend lawn mower and playing with his water activity table.  If he could have his way, Josh would choose to be outside all day.  He just loves it.  Interestingly enough, Joshua seems to have a heightened curiosity for babies right now.  Is the Lord preparing him for a sibling possibly?  Maybe Tim and I should start preparing for a baby!  It's all in His hands.  I have started some fun sensory and learning activities with him, although Josh seems to be a little too young just yet.  I may be having more fun than he is and I feel better knowing that I am exposing him to all these things that are supposed to make little connections in his brain.  All in all, we are exceedingly busy and abundantly blessed!

Please pray...
  • For a quick sale on our house and that we are able to minister to Debbie, our Realtor
  • For time management as I seek to keep the house looking tidy, care for a busy toddler and start packing
  • That God is already preparing the way for us in Fergus Falls as well as the hearts of those who live there
  • Praise God for how amazingly well everything has flowed together so far!
  • Praise God for peace as we trust entirely in God's sufficiency and confess our insufficiency
  • Praise God for increased faith as God continues to revel His plan to us
