Hello friends,
This year as we are planting a Calvary Chapel in Fergus Falls, MN we decided to use Harvest America as our first outreach for our church plant. We have only been here for about two months now and hosted at our home. We were able to get our outreach posted in our local newspaper and handled out about 25 personal invites, however even with the "Minnesota nice" culture here no one showed up to our home. Should we feel discouraged? The enemy would say yes and so would the world, but we were obedient to what the Lord called us to do and left the results up to Him so for us success is simply being obedient to the Lord. So we stay strong in the LORD.
We are now better known in our community and our neighbors know where they can go for help and for prayer. We are also encouraged by finding another person who entered names into the Harvest America Prayer Cloud from our area and hope to someday meet Jennifer H. We have also launched a website in our community: http://ccfergusfalls.com God has great things planned for our town of Fergus Falls and He loves the people here very much. We know that slow and steady growth is healthy and that's what we seek. Please be praying with us as we make an effort to build relationships in town here with the goal of sharing the Gospel message.
Jesus was the friend of men, not avoiding them, but seeking the lost. It was truly said of Him, "This man receives sinners, and eats with them." We must not avoid people but truly be intentional in seeking to talk to people and get to know them, even over a meal. Just as planting a tree takes time, we are once again reminded that the Church plant here is going to take time. Getting to know a new community takes time and we are seeking to see one life changed at a time through the power of the Gospel. May the Lord bless you as you pray for us, thank you!
